Ubon Ratchathani Labour Office Partiaptes in Sorting Human Trafficking Victimrs at Trakan Phuet Phon District

Labour Chief of Ubon Ratchathani Mr. Phethai Komkham assigned Mr. Vichai Kumultree in the position of Employee Specialist to participate in sorting victims of human trafficking from Benjina Island in Indonesia, with the provincial Office of Social Development and Human Security and provincial police of Ubon Ratchathani in Trakan Phuet Phon district. The victims claimed they had travelled to Indonesia to work since they were 15 years of age, upon invitation from an acquaintance at a games shop while they were working in Bangkok. The victims were told that they would work on a vessel in Thai waters for 15 days and then receive compensation right away. They also passed a message to Thai youths with a hobby of playing games at internet cafes to beware of people inviting children for work and to be cautious when making decisions; otherwise others could end up becoming victims to human trafficking too.
