“Pol.Gen. Adul” Joins 9 Agencies to Promote Health and Prevent Diseases in Organizations

             The Labour Minister chaired the signing of the MOU for health promotion and disease prevention for insurers in the workplace together with 9 agencies to promote health and prevent disease among insurers in the workplace. 

 

 

           On February 6, 2019, at 10.30 hours, Labour Minister, H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo chaired the signing of the MOU for health promotion and disease prevention for insurers in the workplace together with 9 agencies at the Jompol P. Pibulsongkram conference room. The Labour Minister spoke about the ministry’s 2019 new year gift policy under the concept of "Happy New Year 2019 to Thai People" which focuses on health problems of employees and insurers through a proactive plan for agencies under the Ministry of Labour to integrate and promote the health of workers for the best quality of life. The Ministry of Labour has assigned the Social Security Office which has the duty to protect and create stability and security in the lives of workers, conduct a proactive action through integration with 9 agencies, including the Social Security Office, the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, agencies under the Ministry of Public Health including the Department of Medical Services, Department of Health, Department of Disease Control, Department of Mental Health and the Private Hospital Association, the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Thai Industries in providing services to insurers at companies. Services will include general health examinations such as oral health, laboratory tests, chest x-rays and cervical cancer tests. Specialized medical teams under the Ministry of Public Health will also be deployed to provide the health checks and advice to insurers, as well as an exhibition to promote knowledge and understanding about health and hygiene, various including knowledge of multiple benefits.
           The first health promotion activities will be piloted on February 7, 2019, at Amata City Industrial Estate, Chonburi. The Ministry of Labor is committed to the health care of insured employees and is ready to support proactive health promotion activities in the workplace to encourage employers and insurers to get a health check and become more health conscious which is beneficial to Thai workers' om having a good quality of life. This is an element that is important in boosting production capacity and to drive the national economy continuously and sustainably.
