MOL Joins 22 Agencies to Create Awareness and Understanding of Government Work Among People in Local Areas

           The Permanent Secretary of Labour signed cooperation with 22 agencies to create awareness and understanding of relevant government policies and work among people in communities and local areas throughout the country.

 

 

           On February 11, 2019, Prime Minister, General Prayuth Chan-ocha chaired the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation on enhancing awareness among the community, joined by Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark at the Santimaitree Building (outer building) at the government houses. The signing was following the Cabinet’s resolution on October 11, 2016, which approved guidelines to enhance awareness and understanding among the people, requiring various government agencies to hold the duties and responsibilities to improve the awareness and understanding about the performance of the authorities. Each agency is assigned to create and send information related to the implementation of significant government policies, in a language easily understandable, concise, and produces clear communication channels. The Ministry of Interior, as the leading agency in coordinating and creating awareness and understanding among the people about government policies thus prepared the Memorandum of Cooperation with 22 agencies.
           This signing of the memorandum aims towards the integration of government policies and agencies into action at the local level, to create public awareness about important government policies, set guidelines for enhancing awareness, knowledge and understanding for people at the local level, publicize and disseminate accurate information and conform to the same standard. It also purposes of forming a network of volunteers to enhance awareness, knowledge and understanding for people at the local level, with cooperation from many agencies between the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Defense, Finance, Foreign Affairs, Tourism and Sports, Social Development and Human Security, Agriculture and Cooperatives, Communication, Natural Resource and Environment, Digital Economy and Society, Energy, Commerce, Justice, Labour, Culture, Science and Technology, Education, Public Health, Industry, Department of Public Relations, Internal Security Operations Command and the Ministry of Interior.
           In this collaboration, the Ministry of Labour will prepare information related to the implementation of government policies within the responsibility of the government, as well as set clear channels for contact to be sent to people at the local level, and form information related to the implementation of government policy, in a language easy to understand, concise and at the same standard as in Article 1. The data will be delivered to the Ministry of Interior to be used for public dissemination at the community and local areas throughout the country.
