MOL invites Young People to Join the Youth Role Model, Be Smart and Be Good, To be Number One Idol Contest 2012

      The Ministry of Labour shows support to the To Be Number One Project and invites young people to join in the Youth Role Model, Be Smart and Be Good, To be Number One Idol Contest of the year 2012, which is held nationwide. Applications for Bangkok Metropolitan area is now until 1 February 2012.

 

               Ms. Songsri Boonba, MOL Deputy Permanent Secretary, in the capacity of the MOL Spokesperson, stated that the Ministry of Labour has continuously supported the operation of To Be Number One Project. Young people and To Be Number One members are hereby invited to join and show off their abilities for the title of Youth Role Model, Be Smart and Be Good, To Be Number One Idol for the year 2012. This activity is a part of To Be Number Idol Project, by HRH Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Bhanavadi, the objectives of which is to promote and improve characters and qualities of To Be Number One members so that they are acceptable and can contribute to the society. The youth role models will be selected from every province to join in the regional and the national contest respectively.

 

               The qualifications of candidates of the Youth Role Model, Be Smart and Be Good, To Be Number One Idol 2012 are: being a To Be Number One member; age between 16-21 years old up until 5 May 2012; having the academic GPAX of the previous year not less than grade 2.7, or the academic GPAX of the last year of education in case of a graduate; being grateful, honest, social minded; having good interpersonal skills; having high EQ; willing to volunteer; having a special ability e.g. singing, dancing, etc; and having good personality. The contest will be held at the provincial level and later at the regional level. The winners of the regional level will join the national level contest. The Southern Regional contest has begun selection process. The Northern Regional contest will be held on 4 February 2012 at Central Kad Suan Kaew Shopping Center, Chiang Mai. The Middle and Eastern Regional contest will be held on 11 February 2012 at Central Festival Pattaya Beach, Chonburi. The Northeastern contest will be held on 12 February 2012 at The Mall Shopping Center, Nakorn Ratchasima. Bangkok Metropolitan contest will be held on 24-26 February 2012 at Future Park Rangsit, Bangkok. The young winners of the regional contests will proceed on to the national level on 13-15 July 2012 at Impact Center, Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi.

 

             Ms. Songsri further stated that young people in the Bangkok Metropolitan area who are interested to join the To Be Number One Idol 2012 can contact and ask for more information at the To Be Number One office, Tel. 0-2590-856 or 0-2590-8284. The application period will close on 1 February 2012.
