On 10-12 July 2010, Office of Labour Affairs in Malaysia welcomed Assistant Minister of Labour (Mr. Yuph Nana), Deputy Permanent Secretary of MOL (Mrs. Jiraporn Kesornsujarit) and group of administrators totally 14 people who visited Malaysia as the abour market extention plan 2010 in order to promote, protect and extend labour market in foreign countries. They also called on Thai workers in order to cheer up them.
Office of Labour Affairs in Malaysia reported the situation of Thai workers in Malaysia and led the group to call on Thai workers working in various occupational fileds in Malaysia
(1) Thai Odyssey; Thai massage operating massage business having 22 branches and 220 massagers. The group visited Tropicana Golf club employing 22 massagers. This company provided welfares, accommodations, shuttle bus and partial food allowance for the massagers. The massagers earn approximately 20,000-30,000 baht per month. The company plans to open another 3 branches and hire another 30 Thai workers.
(2) Tomyum Thai restaurant Sukhumwit which has Narathivat-Native Thai owner The restaurant employs approximately 20 Thai workers from Southern provinces and provides welfares, accommodation and food for the employees which they can send money back every month.
(3) Thai restaurants kind of Tomyum around Kampong Baru. Most restaurants have a great number of Thai workers working at.
In addition, the group also paid a courtesy visit call on Embassy at Kuala Lumpur (Mr. Tana Duangrat) to discuss about labour issues. In this regard, the Ambassador host dinner for the group.
