Assistant to Labour Minister Listens to JETRO Bangkok President’s Reflection and Perspectives on Foreign Investment Prospects

            On March 17, 2022, at 10.00 hours, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong as representative to welcome Mr. Taketani Atsushi, President of The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and committee, on a courtesy visit to discuss and report the results of the business confidence survey of Japanese entrepreneurs in Thailand for the second half of 2021, and to exchange mutually beneficial information. The meeting took place via teleconference system at the Saengsingkaew meeting room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour. The Assistant to the Labour Minister said that the discussions would reflect the views and prospects of foreign investment, which are very useful in shaping Thailand’s economic policies in the future. It is also an important view linked to the labour aspect that is the foundation of the economy going forward.
            There are 964,123 foreign workers registered as insured persons in the social security system as of December 2021, of which 18,387 are Japanese workers.
