On August 8, 2024, at 13.00 hours, in Hong Kong local time, the Assistant to the Labour Minister, Mr. Siraphop Duangsodsri, and the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, held discussions with Thai restaurant operators, including the operator of ASURA Restaurant and Kun Thai Company, Mr. Wasan Singtabutra, and the operator of Thai Pai Dong and Decha Udon restaurant, Mr. Silpakorn Kaenmee. In this regard, the Consul-General in Hong Kong, Mr. Chaturon Chaiyakam, together with executives of the Ministry of Labour, also joined the discussion at the Siam Garden Thai Restaurant.
In this regard, Thai food preparation and Thai cooks are fields in which Thailand is skilled and has expertise. There is the development of labour skills and standard labour skill testing, which makes employers confident in the potential of Thai workers. In addition, the Ministry of Labour also develops labour skills in each field, such as the elderly care field, various welding fields, especially high-pressure welders or underwater welding.
