Caravans and Free Services to be Launched During Songkran

         Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakul chaired the “Ministry of Labour’s Safe Songkran 2017” project in front of the Ministry of Labour. His opening speech spoke about the Department of Skills Development’s 25th anniversary, where the department has been crucial to the development of the people and workforce, supporting ministerial and government policy, particularly in driving towards a Thailand 4.0. The Department of Skills Development has prepared the establishment of 12 advanced technological training centers nationwide, as well as regional skills development institutes/offices in every province, in efforts to reach targets set by the government. 

 

 


           The Labour Minister continued by explaining that the “Ministry of Labour’s Safe Songkran 2017” was government policy to reduce the number of accidents during the long holiday. This year, the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare and many other units have prepared a parade of caravans to help the people and inspect vehicles on the road for free. The services will be available on major roads throughout the country.

           “I hope that you look after yourselves and families during the Songkran festivities and take care when you travel back home. The Ministry of Labour will work closely with other units under the “Safety Thailand” policy to ensure this,” said Director-General Sirichai Distakul.

           The Department of Skills Development’s Director-General Mr. Teerapol Koonmuang further spoke about the Department of Skills Development’s plan to provide vehicle maintenance services, snacks and beverages, refreshment towels and Thai massages at pit stops along main roads throughout Thailand between 11 – 17 April 2017. The project has been supported by several companies including Toyota Motors (Thailand), Nippon Pain (Thailand), Thai Yamaha Motors, Tyre Plus Thailand and Siam Michellin.
