Certificates Awarded to GLP Implementing Companies

           Today, 15 March 2017 at 13.00 hours at the Jompol P. Pibulsongkram conference room, Permanent Secretary of Labour chaired the awarding of certificates to organizations following Good Labour Practices (GLP). She said that the government has given great importance to child labour, slavery and human trafficking in which Thailand’s reputation has effected exports. The Permanent Secretary spoke about resolutions to the issue, collaborating with organizations in taking social responsibility through implementation of Good Labour Practices (GLP). She said that organizations which implement these are considered socially responsible and should therefore be recognized, to motivate others to do the same and increase Thailand’s global trade competitiveness. 

The Permanent Secretary said that the event was organized for the 3,523 companies in the fishing and poultry industries in implementing Good Labour Practices (GLP) voluntarily. This comprised 88 fishing businesses and another 3,435 poultry businesses (chicken farms for export), whereby 83 businesses in the fishing industry and 93 from the poultry industry were awarded.
