Mr. Thawat Sumitmor, Charge d’Affairs , Mr. Anachak Suttayon, Minister Counsellor of labour, Royal Thai Embassy at of Bandar Seri Begawan and Mrs. Kerati Sriligo, Thai entrepreneur from hydroponic agriculture project in Brunei paid a visit to Konkan Province during 23-27 February 2011 in order to jointly discuss with the administer of Phon Industrial and Community Education College on selecting the students in the field of engine mechanic, financial and computer graphic as well as to meet with the administrators so as to select the students in the field of agriculture to be trained with the entrepreneur in Brunei. After complete the training, they might have chance to work in Brunei and could run the business in Brunei in the future. This is also to prepare Thai youth’s readiness for ASEAN Community in 2015.
This project aims to stimulate the vocational students to enhance their skills from the real experience according to the MOU on education between Thai and Brunei in 2009. In this regard, Office of Labour Affairs in Brunei and Royal Thai Embassy have sought the way to implement and support Office of Vocational Education Commission of Thai and Brunei.. They expect to travel to Brunei in April 2011. In addition, Charge d’Affairs and Minister Counsellor also talked about promoting the products of Konkan Province to be sold in Thailand Grand Fair held in Brunei during 26-29 May 2011. In this occasion, they also visited Temporary Passport Bureau in Kankan to see its operation.
