Concerned Labour Minister Assigns Advisor to Visit Injured Insured Person from Vehicle Crash with Electric Pole

          On August 19, 2022, at 10.00 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, and Phetchaburi Social Security Officer Mrs. Rassamee Sujato, to visit insured persons who were injured in a car accident, where a Fortuner lost control and collided with an electric pole, causing one fatality and two injured persons.
          The Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, revealed that the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, is concerned about the insured persons who were involved in the incident. He assigned people to visit the area to give gifts to raise the morale of the insured persons who were injured in the car accident, where a Fortuner collided with an electric pole on Thursday, August 18, causing one death and two injuries. The accident took place in Khao Yoi District, Phetchaburi Province. According to the investigation, the accident consisted of Mr. Karan Supakitvilakarn, the Director of the Pidthong Institute for Promotion and Development, following the Royal Initiative, and former Chumphon Governor. He died (not an insured person). Mr. Damrongsak Luangkrai, the driver (an insured person), was injured in his abdomen and neck area. He is receiving treatment at Petcharat Hospital. The third person was Mr. Chamroen Yuttitham (a pensioner), working with the establishment of Pidthong Lang Phra Foundation following the Royal Initiative, under the responsibility of the Bangkok Social Security Office Area 1. From initial coordination, it was known that all were on their way to perform their duties, which is considered an injury because of working, which falls under entitlement of the Compensation Fund. For the injured person, Mr. Damrongsak Luangkrai, insured under Section 33, the Phetchaburi Provincial Social Security Office has coordinated with the employer to submit a report of injury and a letter referring the employee to medical treatment. They also explained the Compensation Fund’s benefits, including medical expenses and compensation for loss of income. They coordinated with the Bangkok Social Security Office Area 1 to complete the relevant actions. She also paid a visit to the injured insured at Petcharat Hospital. Dr. Thanong Soonthornpakornkit, Director of Mahachai Petchararat Hospital, and medical personnel gave a welcome.
          The Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, continued that on behalf of the Ministry of Labour, she shared her encouragement with the insured persons who suffered such injuries and gave condolences to the family of the deceased. She instructed the Social Security Office’s staff across the country to take care of employees and insured persons to receive entitled benefits and reach those who have been in trouble quickly and promptly.
