“Creating Jobs and Career Paths@Rayong” Offering Over 3,500 Positions in the Eastern Region, Opening Up the World to Students Finding Further Studies

  On July 5, 2024, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mr. Thanat Thaweekueakulkit, to chair the opening of the “Creating Jobs and Career Paths@Rayong Project to Honour His Majesty the King on the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty the King’s 72nd Birthday on July 28, 2024.” The Department of Employment’s Director-General, Mr. Somchai Morakotsriwan, gave a report. The Deputy Governor of Rayong Province, Mr. Kamthorn Wehan, along with the heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Rayong Province, welcomed the delegation at the Sumiphon Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTEC).

  The Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mr. Thanat Thaweekueakulkit, said that the Ministry of Labour’s Department of Employment organized the “Creating Jobs and Career Paths@Rayong” event to support all target groups to have careers, work, and income, creating opportunities and social equality. The event was organized to open up the world of careers to prepare students to learn about careers and skills using digital technology, including modern occupations, in honour of His Majesty the King’s 72nd Birthday on July 28, 2024. This effort is in line with the government and the Ministry of Labour’s policies in promoting employment. Rayong Province is a city of great economic importance in industry, travel, and agriculture. The Ministry of Labour, therefore, recognizes Rayong Province as an important strategic location. The event is organized so that people can conveniently access government services and benefits for all groups of people. In addition, it received support from The Ministry of Commerce, bringing in the “Blue Flag Mobile to Stimulate the Community Economy” project to provide people in the region with access to affordable products, easing the burden of household expenses. The event also hosted a variety of other activities beneficial to the attendees.

  “I would like to thank all government agencies in Amata City Rayong, employees, companies, representatives from the private sector, and all educational institutions involved in organizing the event. I am confident that this event will be another successful activity that will benefit the people, help reduce the unemployment rate, and solve labour shortages in the area,” said Mr. Thanat.

  The Department of Employment’s Director-General, Mr. Somchai Morakotsriwan, said that the event had many exciting activities, such as direct recruitment and interviews with employers in Rayong Province and nearby provinces for a total of 52 companies with 3,599 job vacancies. There were also pre-registrations for job applications through the online system and access to jobs that the new generation is interested in, such as working abroad. At the event, there were also advisory and registration services for people interested in working abroad, freelance career demonstrations, and hands-on trials of 30 careers, such as gardening in glass bottles, betel nut fans, and banknote bouquets. There was an exhibition of further education guidance for students who are close to graduating, career guidance services, career readiness assessments, and English language tests for job applications. There was also a personality assessment service for further education and career selection, as well as the World of Careers exhibition and virtual learning. In addition, there was an advisory on financial resources for careers and services provided by agencies under the Ministry of Labour, displays and sale of products for home workers, self-employed groups, people with disabilities, and the elderly, and an opportunity for people to find ideas for starting a franchise business worth investing in. There was also a talk by four successful people in their careers and a quiz and prize-winning activity.

  He asked to spread the good news to job seekers nationwide. The Ministry of Labour’s Department of Employment has scheduled the “Creating Jobs and Career Paths” activity in two more provinces: 1) Narathiwat Province on July 15, 2024, and 2) Phuket Province on August 2, 2024. He invited job seekers, students, and citizens who are interested in finding work and want to develop skills and find ideas for additional careers to join the “Creating Jobs and Career Paths@Rayong” event between July 5 – 6, 2024, from 09.00 to 16.30 hours.
