The Factory Sandbox project has supported export businesses, especially in the automotive and auto parts group. The initiative has supported continued employment and entrepreneurs to continue their businesses. There is cooperation in training employees’ labour skills to prepare for the Word Skill Competition 2022 in Shanghai, China, in October 2022. On this occasion, they also poured water to give blessings over the hands of the Labour Minister. The Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, Assistant Minister from the Prime Minister’s Office, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour Police Major General Nantachat Supamongkol and Mr. Suthi Sukosol, the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Thienrat Navamawat, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also participated in the event at the Chatumongkol Room, 6th floor, Ministry of Labour.
Mr. Suchart said that the COVID-19 pandemic situation during 2021 widely affected the tourism and service sectors, which is an important income for the nation. But at the same time, export business with over 2 million workers in 4 sectors continued to grow, namely in food, medical equipment, automotive, and electronic parts. This results from the Ministry of Labour’s Factory Sandbox project, following government policy. Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha and Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan assigned the Ministry of Labour to work with the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Industry to implement projects with economic principles in conjunction with public health, to provide remedies, assistance, vaccination, and COVID-19 screening. As a result, the export business grew in 11 years, helping businesses maintain employment. For some companies, bonuses of up to eight times were paid.
“The results of the Factory Sandbox project following government policy shows that the export business, especially the automotive and auto parts group, had continued employment and entrepreneurs could continue their businesses. Employees in the automotive industry had a better quality of life, helping build the nation’s economy to overcome the Covid-19 situation,” concluded Mr. Suchart.
Executive Vice President of DENSO (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Mr. Amphol Hompluem, said that today, he came to meet the Labour Minister to thank the government under the Prime Minister, including the Labour Minister, for helping the private sector from the impact of COVID-19. Today, the company can continue its business from the Factory Sandbox project. In the past, each company was affected accordingly, but at the same time, his company was in the automotive and auto parts industry. When the government issued measures to take care of employees, the factory did not stop production. They were able to produce and export continuously. Most importantly, the company has appropriately given bonuses and other benefits to employees. This helps to improve the quality of life of employees as well.
