Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Assistant Secretariat to the Labour Minister Mr. Parkin Sommitthanakun and the Ministry of Labour executives, visited the Mudmee Silk Community Enterprise Group, Ban Hua Fai, Por Daeng, Chonabot, Khon Kaen, which is an enterprise group that operates silk weaving, mulberry planting, and cultivates silk. They also grow organic vegetables following the royal initiative and the philosophy of a sufficiency economy.
The group activities were divided into duties. There was a consolidation of shares to finance group operations, supported by both the public and private sectors. The group networked with mulberry cultivators established in the community, sub-district, district level, provincial level, and online, enabling them to add value to their products to build a good reputation. In the past, weaving was an important duty of Isarn women, because they had to weave clothes to be used as a garment in their daily lives. Isarn women have to learn and practice weaving since childhood, and it has become their way of life.
