Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Joins Senate Committee on Labour on Visit to EEC to Drive Skill Development to Support Labour Demands in Industrial Sector

On March 11, 2022, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Labour, Police General Adul Saengsingkeaw, visited Chonburi Province for a meeting to discuss and listen to a briefing on monitoring the performance of the EEC Labour Administration Centre. The meeting also covered problems, obstacles, and solutions to problems in past operations. The committee also met and spoke with the center’s staff and service users. Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Wannarat Srisuksai, the Ministry of Labour’s executives, and heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Chonburi Province joined the welcoming. The occasion took place at the EEC Labour Administration Centre within the Institute of Skill Development 3, Chonburi Province. Pol. Gen. Adul and the team also attended a meeting. They listened to a briefing on management issues and the creation of a labour database (Big Data), the needs of the labour market, and labour production and human resource development guidelines according to the EEC model. The effort aims to feed labour into the Thai industry to meet the demands of the labour market in the targeted industries that have continuous demand. The meeting also covered problems, obstacles, and solutions to past operations and manpower development in automation and robotics to enhance skills to upgrade production technology in Thailand to Industry 4.0 (Automation Park). The initiative aims to develop personnel skills to enter the Thai industrial sector. The occasion took place at the Burapha University, Chonburi Province. On this occasion, they observed the center’s operations and met with the staff and students who were trained in the center as well.
          Pol. Gen. Adul said that this visit by the Senate Labour Committee made suggestions to relevant agencies on various issues, especially the EEC Labour Administration Centre, as the center of linking the labour database. The visit covered the allocation of an adequate budget the consideration of relevant laws to decentralize the local government and the organization of operations while government agencies must integrate and accelerate the development of advanced human resources. It also covered the expansion of cooperation to create a network of personnel development to cover the needs of the targeted industries, including the development of soft skills over hard skills, and collecting data of successful people who work abroad to work in the EEC to solve the shortage of high-level skilled workers as well.
