Permanent Secretary of Labour M.L. Puntrik Smiti added, “The processes of investigating employee-employer relationships will require thorough inspection of documents, especially juristic persons which will need to go through the Department of Employment’s process. I am confident that the Ministry of Labour will be able to verify employee-employee relations on time and. I urge all employers with household workers, waiters, construction workers and shopkeepers to report their migrant workers at the center – this is a good opportunity to enter transfer into the system legally without passing agents. Employers can apply in person, which will only take 3 minutes to process. Most importantly, not fees will apply until the visa, medical examination and work permit issuance process.”
