On 21April 2011, Mr. Wiboon Khusajul, Executive Director of Thailand Trade and Economic Office (Ambassador), traveled to the southern Taiwan city of Kaoshiung to visit a group of 85 Thai workers who were sent to work in Formosa Heavy Industry Company by the Ministry of Labour on its direct-hire project. The groups of workers were selected and sent to work by Department of Employment without having to pay service charge on September 2010. The Executive Director met and talked with the workers, asking them about their lives and job in Taiwan. He said he is glad to see the workers sending approximately 15,000 baht back home each month and having opportunity to come to work here without having to pay service fees. He also expressed his appreciation to the owner of the company. He added that he was ready to publicize and present the direct-hire project to other employers in Taiwan as well.
