On 5 September 2017 at 15.00 hours, Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakul welcomed Dr. Lyu Kee Ill, President of Far East University from South Korea and committee on courtesy call at the Ministry of Labour’s lounge. Permanent Secretary of Labour M.L. Puntrik Smiti and the ministry’s executives also joined in the discussion.
The Labour Minister said that the Ministry of Labour had identified the importance of information technology in boosting workforce productivity, which also includes the supervision and maintenance of information databases which must be secure, trustworthy and widely available for the people. For this reason, he explained that the Ministry of Labour’s own workforce must be updated with the latest trends and techniques on cyber security so that online users can be confident in the ministry’s systems. He further explained the alignment of the 8 agendas for reform, the government’s 20-year strategy and the ministry’s own plans on digital development to support the Thailand 4.0 policy
