On November 11, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyuth, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labor, assigned Ms. Buppha Ruangsud, Director-General of the Department of Skill Development and Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary, as the representative of the Ministry of Labor to preside over the funeral ceremony of Mr. Thana Tijanthuek. Mr. Thana, a Thai worker from Nakhon Ratchasima Province, died due to a rocket attack from Lebanon targeting the town of Metula in northern Israel on October 31, 2024. The ceremony was attended by the District Chief of Sikhio, heads of government offices under the Ministry of Labor in Nakhon Ratchasima, and other attendees who expressed their condolences to Mr. Thana’s relatives. They laid sandalwood flowers and performed the final farewell ceremony at Song Phi Nong Charoentham Temple, Krissana Subdistrict, Sikhio District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Amid the deep sorrow, during the transportation of Mr. Thana’s body, his wife and mother were seen embracing his photo and crying, unable to come to terms with the loss of their husband and son.
In this event, Ms. Buppha, representing the Ministry of Labor, presented death benefits from the Social Security Office in Nakhon Ratchasima, Pak Chong branch, amounting to 41,480.87 baht to Mr. Thana’s heirs. She also provided a financial contribution to support and comfort the bereaved family, along with messages of sympathy from the Minister of Labor and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labor.
