On June 18, 2018, at 11.30, H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor welcomed H.E.ITH SAMHENG, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the delegation paid a visit to Varawan, the Labor Minister’s Office, 6th Floor, Ministry of Labor. They discussed the cooperation of foreign workers registration. Proof of nationality of Cambodian workers in Thailand has been fully implemented. The process is progressing well and to carry out the proof of citizenship, the Cambodian workers in the rest to complete by the end of June 2018.
Gen. Adul said that the verification of Cambodian workers’ nationality was a common practice and believe that in the rest of tens of thousands more people will return to it, but it must continue to work best to secure workers protected and the benefits are in accordance with international standards and that every Cambodian worker has equal rights like Thai workers.
H.E.ITH said that the verification of the remaining Cambodian workers’ nationality will be completed by the end of June 2018. This will be thanks to the Thai side for their cooperation in the process of proving the nationality and success until now and support the way of Thailand. Including the law of Thailand where workers do not have a work permit document, they can not work and live in Thailand. And Thailand will be a great success with the workers. It is not only Cambodian workers. There are also Lao and Burmese migrants who need to be greatly appreciated by the Thai people.
In addition, Gen. Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor, led by H.E.ITH SAMHENG, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the delegation visited and met with Cambodian workers who came to prove their nationality and applied for a work permit at the ground floor, Ministry of Labor.
