“Gen. Adul” filed the ratification of the 29th edition of the ILO, reiterating Thailand’s commitment to equal protection of labor rights.

            On June 4, 2018, Police Secretary General Adul Saengsiew Kaew, Minister of Labor, met with ILO Director General Mr. Guy Ryder to file for ratification of the ILO Supplementary Protocol. No. 29 on forced labor in the 1930s, which Thailand is the 24th member state to ratify this Protocol. And the first in the Asia-Pacific, said that the government, under the leadership of General Prayut Chayo Ocha Prime Minister, who has been managing the country for more than four years has solved many problems of the country. This includes solving foreign labor problems. The government is committed to elevating Thailand to a global level. And under consideration by the National Legislative Assembly. The Thai government is committed to making every effort to provide labor protection.

            Maj. Gen. Adulat added that Thailand is a member state of the ILO co-founders, and thanked the ILO for its support of the technical cooperation with the Ministry of Labor. And the Ministry of Labor is ready to work in line with international standards. It also celebrates the 100th anniversary of the founding of the ILO.
           Mr. Guy Ryder, ILO Director General, thanked Thailand for its commitment to solving the labor problem. And provide regional ILO regional presence. It also requested that Thailand ratify additional conventions, in particular the C87 and C98, as well as formulate a national action plan that values the work.
