“Gen. Adul” prepares ILC meeting in Geneva, Swiss Confederation Submitted the ratification of the Convention, No. 29 on forced labor.

            Mrs.Petcharat Sinauy, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labor as as the spokesperson for Minister of Labor revealed that H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor, along with Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labor and the delegation, is scheduled to visit the International Labor Organization (ILC) 107 during June 1 – 7, 2018 in Geneva, Swiss Confederation. In this meeting, the Minister of Labor met Mr. Guy Ryder, the ILO Director General and Registered the ratification of the Protocol of Accession No. 29 of the 1930 Workers’ Code, with a statement to the General Assembly on June 4, 2018.

            Mrs. Petcharat added that the significance of the 107th Session of the International Labor Conference (107th Session of the ILC) was the confirmation of the intention of the International Labor Organization (International Labor Organization: ILO) on measures to assist and protect victims of trafficking or forced labor in line with human rights principles, raising awareness for the general public, job seekers, workers, employers, and related authorities in the field of forced labor, encourage people to take part in the responsibility and promote respect for human rights. This leads to the avoidance of problems and the solution to trafficking.

           In addition to the International Labor Organization (ILC) session of the 107th Gen. Adul will be scheduled to visit the Thai Embassy in Switzerland, meet Thai workers in Switzerland, and discuss the issues with Mr. Chakkri Srichawana, Ambassador of Thailand to Bern, at the Royal Thai Embassy in Bern. This will be beneficial for cooperation in measures to assist and protect victims of forced labor or forced labor in line with human rights principles.
