“Gen Adul” welcomes the Social Reform Commission to discuss elderly employment.

            Today (May 30, 2018) H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor welcomed Mr.Peetipong Pheungboon Na Ayudhya, President of the Social Reform Commission, will meet to discuss the driving force behind the social reform agenda at the 5th floor of the Ministry of Labor. Currently, Thailand has about 10 million elderly people and in the next three years, the elderly will reach 16 million people. The Prime Minister has urged to accelerate the implementation of employment for the elderly. The Ministry of Labor has revised the ministerial regulations on employment for the elderly. It must be integrated with the private sector to define the type of job and the type of employment that drives it into action.

              Gen. Adul added that the Ministry of Labor, by the Department of Labor Protection and Welfare, has taken care of pre-retirement employees on issues of promoting savings, welfare and social investment and encourages savings for employees to save on retirement. Currently, there are 614 employees, 689,756 employees. In addition, they provide loans to the workers’ labor fund so that the savings cooperatives of the laborers in the enterprises can borrow and lend to members in enterprises at low interest rates. Encouraging employers to provide welfare benefits, including statutory and welfare benefits, such as establishment of provident fund. It also encourages physicians and nurses to work in health care facilities.
