On the 29th of October 2014, Minister Counsellor of Labour, Poonsak Pramong along with Chakrit Ratanawit went to inspect and provide protection of welfare to Thai therapists and spa workers at the Flamingo Massage Center situated in Abu Dhabi, as complaints had been filed stating employers had not paid employees according to the contract and had not allowed days off in accordance to the labour laws.  The Office of Labour invited the employers to a discussion for a resolution for the pay to be as stated in the contract as well as allowing days off in accordance to the labour laws, to which the employers stated they had resolved the issue.  The Office of Labour inspected the working environment and found that it was safe, whereby workers also revealed that agencies from the UAE consistently inspected the work site.

From the discussion it was found that the group of workers had commenced work from the recommendations of acquaintances in Thailand and had entered on tourist visas.  The employment contracts had never gone through inspection by the Labour Office which had resulted in exploitation.  The Office of Labour advised the welfare according to the UAE laws as well as correct legal processes for working in the UAE.
