On 8 March 2017 at 14.00, Princess Soamsawali presided over the awarding of trophies to outstanding women on the occasion of the International Women’s Day 2017, to which Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakul, Permanent Secretary of Labour M.L. Puntrik Smiti, the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare’s Director-General Sumet Mahosot and executives also attended.
This year’s International Women’s Day was organized by the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, under the theme “The New Generation of Women for a Thailand 4.0”, aimed to raise awareness of women employees and equality. In this year’s event, 27 outstanding women were awarded with trophies for their achievements. The event took place at the Miracle Grand Ballroom at the Miracle Grand Convention Hotel on Viphavadee Rangsit road in Bangkok.
