On December 11, 2024, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labor, delegated Mr. Ari Krainara, Secretary to the Minister of Labor, to inaugurate a project aimed at enhancing the skills of independent workers and targeted groups to expand career opportunities. The training courses, focused on solar cell system installation and maintenance as well as dressmaking, took place at the Mulberry and Silkworm Farming Community Enterprise in Ban Chiang Yuen, Tambon Chiang Yuen, Mueang Udon Thani District, Udon Thani Province. Heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labor in Udon Thani warmly welcomed the event.
In his address, Mr. Ari expressed his honor and pleasure in presiding over the opening ceremony. He highlighted that the project, under the fiscal year 2025 initiative of the Udon Thani Skill Development Institute 18 (Department of Skill Development, Ministry of Labor), aims to enhance the capabilities of informal workers by aligning skill development with individual potential and career needs. The courses, including solar cell system installation and sewing, are designed to raise income levels and create sustainable employment opportunities. Mr. Ari noted that participants will gain practical knowledge and skills that can be directly applied to their careers, enabling them to generate higher incomes. The initiative also supports the provision of essential tools for sustainable livelihoods, aligning with the Ministry of Labor’s policies under the leadership of Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn. These policies emphasize modern skills development, job creation, workplace safety, and strengthening the Thai labor economy. He further emphasized that this training program represents an excellent opportunity to enhance workforce potential. Upon completion, participants will be equipped to use their newly acquired skills to create jobs, improve their incomes, and elevate the quality of life for themselves and their families, ultimately benefiting their communities.
