Content Description

On November 28, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, to chair the opening ceremony of the training program to develop the potential of labour volunteers in the prevention and solution of drug problems for 2023. Heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Phetchaburi Province and labour volunteers in Phetchaburi province joined the welcoming at the Yong Noppakhun Conference Room, Phetchaburi Provincial Office of Non-Formal and Informal Education, Thongchai Subdistrict, Mueang Phetchaburi District, Phetchaburi Province.
Mrs. Thiwalrat said that the government, under the leadership of the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, gives importance to driving policies to prevent and solve drug problems. Therefore, today, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned her to preside over the training for labour volunteers who are an important part of driving the Ministry of Labour’s missions to the area. Drug issues are a national security issue. The Ministry of Labour is considered a key agency at the policy level in preventing and solving drug problems in the workplace. Therefore, all sectors must work together to solve the problem of drug addiction affecting the well-being of people.
“Today’s training is another mission to strengthen drug immunity in workplaces for labour volunteers who act as primary coordinators between workers with less than ten employees and government agencies involved in drug prevention. Each labour volunteer is like each grain of soil that unite to work on drug prevention for His Majesty the King. His Majesty has expressed concern for the people about drug problems in our nation,” concluded Mrs. Thiwalrat.
The Phetchaburi Provincial Labour Office organized the project for labour volunteer leaders at the subdistrict level, networks, and relevant persons to have a better understanding of the White Factory Project, standards for the prevention and solution of drug problems in the workplace, and the TO BE NUMBER ONE project on prevention and solution of drug problems in the workplace. It aims to provide knowledge and advice to prevent and solve drug problems for employers/employees in the workplace, including spreading awareness and inviting businesses and informal workers to see the importance and participate in activities on the prevention and solution of drug problems. The project also allows the exchange of experiences in the practice of labour volunteers, supporting the development of operational guidelines that effectively respond to the Ministry of Labour and the government’s policies.
From there, the Labour Minister’s Advisor also presided over the awarding ceremony for the “Baworn” network to honour members of the outstanding houses, temples, schools, and factories of 2022 in Phetchaburi Province that have benefited society in supporting social security operations. She witnessed the delivery of cars and computers to Phetchaburi Buddhist temples and colleges to be used in the temples’ religious activities and for monks and novices to study. The occasion took place at the Yong Noppakhun Conference Room, Phetchaburi Provincial Office of Non-Formal and Informal Education, Thongchai Subdistrict, Mueang Phetchaburi District, Phetchaburi Province.
