On May 23, 2022, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, to preside over the opening remarks at the meeting to create awareness of social security work in Samut Songkhram Province, Class 1. Heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Samut Songkhram Province gave a welcome at the Coco View Hotel, Muang District, Samut Songkhram Province.
Mrs. Thiwalrat said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defence General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Ministry of Labour under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, and Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin, give importance and concern to all workers who are insured persons. The Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office has the main mission to protect employees and insured persons who suffer from work-related harm, dangers or illness, disability, and death not due to work, including childbirth and child support, old age, and unemployment insurance. It aims to create security and stability for people’s livelihoods and promote happiness and shared social responsibility. Its core principles aim to allow people to help each other and help themselves and their families in times of no income, decreased income, or increased expenses, without burdening others and society. Social security, therefore, is considered one of the things that create stability in life.
Mrs. Thiwalrat continued that the Samut Songkhram Provincial Social Security Office held a meeting today. The meeting was very useful as it will allow everyone to have knowledge and understanding of social security practices and principles, from the work process of the employer, guidelines for claiming benefits of insured persons, and additional benefits in each case, including the SSO’s service channels that continue to develop. It will also create a network and coordination between employers, employees, hospitals, and related parties to communicate and coordinate easily and quickly, supporting insured workers more effectively and maximizing benefits to employers, employees, and related persons.
