The Labour Minister assigned his Advisor to visit Phetchaburi to commence the training on Thai massage to promote the Thailand Wellness Sandbox.
On April 20, 2022, at the meeting room on the first floor, Phetchaburi Skill Development Office, Cha-am District, Phetchaburi Province, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan to preside over the opening ceremony of the skills enhancement training in the body structure balance massage course, under the project to promote skill development and potential. The course was conducted for 20 workers who practice Thai massage in Phetchaburi Province. The initiative aims to support the recovery of tourism and service sectors in Phetchaburi Province and the country’s opening following the Ministry of Labour’s policy. It also aims to promote the country as a health tourism destination according to the government’s policy. The Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Thienrat Navamawat, the Department of Skill Development’s Inspector-General Ms. Apakorn Wongkhetkon, and heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Phetchaburi Province joined the occasion. After presiding over the ceremony, Mrs. Thiwalrat said that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha and under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan and Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin, there is a policy to promote skill development for workers including employment and importance to human resource development at all ages to be qualified workers following the demands of the labor market and in line with the policy to promote the Thailand Wellness Sandbox. This is especially in tourist areas such as Cha-am and Hua Hin Districts, a new destination for health tourism in Thailand. Thus, the Labour Minister assigned the Department of Skills Development to expedite skills development for the workforce.
The Department of Skill Development’s Director-General, Mr. Prateep Songlamyong, said that he had assigned agencies under the Department of Skill Development, namely the Institute of Skill Development and the Office of Skill Development to conduct training in Thai massage. There are many courses such as Thai massage for health, massage techniques, oil massage, massage for health, aromatherapy massage, and facial massage for beauty. In 2021, the training was conducted by 1,347 people, and in 2022 there is a goal of 2,000 people. Today, the Phetchaburi Skills Development Office conducted training on balancing the body structure. The training period is 30 hours with 24 people. The target group was Thai massage workers in Phetchaburi Province, where the training will be from April 20 to 24, 2022. Those who attend the training will learn both theory and practice to understand the methods, procedures, rules, prohibitions, and precautions about massage to balance the body structure.
