Content Description

On August 24, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, to preside over the opening remarks of the project to create network partners to promote the employment of disabled persons under Section 35. The efforts aim to promote and develop the quality of life of people with disabilities in Phetchaburi Province. Heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Phetchaburi Province, government representatives, enterprises, and representatives from the Subdistrict Service Center for People with Disabilities, participated in the event, which took place at the Nopparat Conference Room, 2nd floor, Royal Diamond Hotel, Muang District, Phetchaburi Province.
Mrs. Thiwalrat said that the government under the leadership of the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, General Prayuth Chan-ocha, the Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, who oversees the Ministry of Labour, and the Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin, gives importance to the development of the quality of life of vulnerable groups, especially those with disabilities. They do this by promoting employment to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities, reduce inequality, and enhance opportunities for people with disabilities in Thailand to access welfare and government services. The efforts promote their abilities to have careers to support themselves and their families with dignity and not be discriminated against. In the past year, people with disabilities or caregivers of people with disabilities who participated in the project had the opportunity to use their professional abilities to make an income, become self-reliant, and reduce the burden on their families and society. It helps people with disabilities and their caregivers in Phetchaburi Province to have an opportunity to have a career and a job.
Mrs. Thiwalrat continued that the project aims to provide organizations with empirical data to decide on granting the rights of people with disabilities or their caregivers in the following year. It raises awareness among government agencies that want to give rights to people with disabilities or their caregivers to work in agencies, providing them with information about people with disabilities or their caregivers about their rights in matching as soon as the rights change. The efforts have established a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Phetchaburi Provincial Employment Office and establishments in providing rights for people with disabilities or their caregivers in the coming years, to create stability in them having jobs, and to have a group network partners to support people with disabilities or their caregivers in Phetchaburi Province. It continuously promotes the employment rights of persons with disabilities under Section 35 and enables organizations to grant or change rights immediately.
“The Ministry of Labour would like to thank organizations that recognize the importance of giving people with disabilities or their caregivers the rights to a career, including government agencies, for providing places to perform public utility work for people with disabilities or their caregivers. The cooperation of all parties has made the performance in the past year satisfactory. There were concrete results that made people with disabilities proud. It allowed them to work and live in society, improving their quality of life and their families to some extent, from the income that people with disabilities or their caregivers earn. As a result, more money is circulating in the economy in Phetchaburi province,” concluded Mrs. Thiwalrat.
