Labour Minister Assigns Advisor to Visit Phetchaburi to Give Encouragement to Informal Workers and Section 40 Insured Persons

          On February 8, 2022, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, to lead heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Phetchaburi Province and labour volunteers in Mueang and Ban Laem Districts, to donate rice and dry food and give encouragement to informal workers and insured persons under Section 40 in quarantine from being at high risk of the COVID-19 infection. President of the Pak Thale Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mr. Chaiwat Wanphon, joined as recipient representative.

          From there, the Labour Minister’s Advisor and committee visited the area to support two insured persons under Section 40, namely Mr. Payom Hanpanen in Laem Phak Bia Subdistrict, Ban Laem District, who cares for his children and grandchildren who are disabled, totaling three people. They also met with Mr. Pisan Saiaram in Chong Sakae Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phetchaburi Province, a car accident victim. They also brought labor benefits services to provide immediate assistance to the insured persons under Section 40.
          Mrs. Thiwalrat said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wonguswan, who oversees the Ministry of Labour, has concerns for informal workers, including Section 40 insured persons, and the general public amid the COVID-19 situation. The Labour Minister assigned her to visit Mueang and Ban Laem Districts in Phetchaburi Province and has sent his concern and encouragement to the informal workers and those insured under Section 40. Today, the committee delivered rice and dry foods to the people in the group mentioned above being treated at home who are at high risk of the COVID-19 infection. In addition, they know that there are Section 40 people who are sick or have experienced an accident. Furthermore, some people have to take care of their children and grandchildren who are handicapped. In this regard, she assigned the Phetchaburi Provincial Social Security to take care of the insured person, Mr. Pisan, in traveling to the hospital for a brain check resulting from a car accident. For the income of Mr. Payom, she assigned the Phetchaburi Provincial Employment Office to support a washing machine to be used as a tool for further occupation.

          Mrs. Thiwalrat added that for treatment rights, when an insured person is infected with COVID-19, they can receive treatment at a hospital according to their medical treatment rights and at hospitals near their location of residence, free of charge. If the hospital, according to their eligibility or the hospitals where they receive treatment, is unable to provide treatment or exceeds the potential for treatment, the insured person be sent to a hospital with higher capacity, free of charge. If the insured persons cannot receive treatment in the hospital according to their rights due to being in the province or different areas, they can be treated in hospitals nearby. The insured will receive care in a medical facility, field hospital, Hospitel, Community Isolation, or Home Isolation, following the guidelines and service systems established by the Ministry of Public Health, free of charge.
