Labour Minister Assigns Assistant to Commence 29th National Skills Competition at the Regional Level for the Central Region

          On August 11, 2022, at 13.30 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Assistant to the Labour Minister, Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, presided over the closing ceremony of the 29th National Skills Competition, at the regional level, in the central region. The Department of Skill Development’s Director-General, Mr. Prateep Songlamyong, delivered a report. The occasion took place at the Novotel Marina Sriracha and Koh Sichang Hotel, Chonburi Province. The competition will be held between August 3 to 5, 2022, divided into four provinces, namely the central provinces hosted by the Chonburi Institute of Skill Development 3, the northeastern provinces hosted by the Ubon Ratchathani Institute of Skill Development 7, the northern provinces hosted by the Phitsanulok Institute of Skill Development 9, and the southern provinces hosted by the Surat Thani Institute of Skill Development 11. There were 25 fields of competition. Three youths will receive awards as representatives of the region and participate in the 29th National Skills Competition in March 2023.
          Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong said that organizing labour competitions in many countries can be regarded as a tool that produces good results in developing the country’s workforce. As a result, there is a group of countries at the regional level and internationally that host competition as a platform for youth representatives of each country to test their knowledge, skills, and professional abilities. The results of the competition indicate the potential of developing a country’s workforce, that there is advanced skill development which promotes industry investors and service businesses, both domestically and internationally. It promotes confidence and willingness to invest in the country. As a result, the country is wealthy and economically strong. The Labour Minister’s Assistant congratulated the 25 contestants who won prizes in this competition.
          “Everyone’s victory shows their determination to develop their skills and discipline during training. I hope that all contestants and their agencies will gain experiences from this competition, which can be applied to benefit their work and profession both now and in the future,” concluded Mr. Surachai.
