Labour Minister Assigns Assistant to Rayong to Promote Skills Development and Employment

          The Labour Minister assigned the Assistant to the Labour Minister to visit Rayong, meet with heads of relevant government agencies to get feedback on issues and drive important labour missions. He emphasized the acceleration to raise workers’ skill level to have better skills, promote employment, and expedite the payment of unemployment benefits to the affected people.
          On October 7, 2020, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong traveled to Rayong province and visited the Workers Rehabilitation Center Region 2, Rayong Province, along with the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General Mr. Puma Thamakul. The objective was to follow up on the Ministry of Labour’s missions and to meet with the heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Rayong. The meeting listened to a briefing on the labour situation and drivers of important labour policies, including obstacles in the area. The occasion took place at the Rayong Workers Rehabilitation Center Region 2, Phana Nikom, Nikhom Phatthana, Rayong. The Director of the Worker Rehabilitation Center Region 2, Ms. Supattra Rojanmangkhalaporn, gave a welcoming and led the center’s visit. Mr. Surachai said that the Labour Minister emphasizes every department to work proactively, accelerate the drive to raise workers’ skill level to have improved skills, promote employment, and expedite the payment of unemployment benefits to the affected people.
          The Rayong Workers Rehabilitation Center Region 2 has a mission to provide rehabilitation services to employees who have suffered from harm or illness due to work, resulting in a loss of body movement, and insured persons with disabilities. It provides comprehensive rehabilitation services and promotes employment. There are 241 people who receive rehabilitation at the Rayong Workers Rehabilitation Center Region 2.
