On January 20, 2022, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong to visit Chiconi Electronics (Thailand) Co., Ltd., in Bang Pakong District, Chachoengsao Province. The company imports raw materials, materials, equipment, and spare parts to produce computer peripherals and software. This visit was attended by the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat, along with the Ministry of Labour’s senior executives. Mrs. Lu Su Chun, Chairman of Chiconi Electronics (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and Mr. Surachai Thammanon, Bang Pakong District Chief, gave a welcoming.
Mr. Surachai said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Ministry of Labour under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, are concerned for the people and those affected by the COVID-19 situation. The Ministry of Labour has been instructed to help and remedy those affected by the pandemic. The Ministry of Labour has launched various important measures, including proactive screening with RT-PCR 100% under the “Workforce Fighting Together” project, remedies for Section 33 insured persons through the “Section 33 We Love Each Other” project, remedies to insured persons under Sections 33, 39 and 40, in 29 provinces, reduced contributions, increased unemployment benefits and projects to promote and maintain employment levels in SMEs, the Factory Sandbox project and the establishment of vaccination centers for Section 33 insured persons.
Mr. Surachai continued that the government and the Ministry of Labour give great importance to the quality of life of all workers in every group because they are the cogs that play an important role in driving and creating economic and social development of the country, to have prosperity, progress, stability, and sustainability. Today, he and the team visited Chiconi Electronics (Thailand) Co., Ltd., to meet with employees. The company has 3,769 employees, comprising 3,672 Thais and 97 foreign employees. A total of 1,246 employees received their first and second vaccination doses with the Social Security Office, comprising 1,233 Thai people and 13 foreigners. The remaining 2,533 people received vaccinations at Tha Kham Subdistrict Municipality and Bang Wua Subdistrict Municipality. The vaccination service was provided by doctors and nurses from Bang Pakong Hospital. All employees have registered for the third vaccination dose at the vaccination service point of the Social Security Office. So far, 223 have received the vaccinations, all Thai.
Chachoengsao province has 5,050 establishments with 417,040 insured persons. Most of the employment is in the manufacturing sector, wholesale and retail, transportation and storage of goods, comprising 86.61 percent. Remedies related to COVID-19 were provided to 9 business types, including 2,211 employers, and 246,329 employees, injecting 827,018,500 Baht into the economy. The project to promote employment in SMEs covered 2,838 employers who applied, preserving employment of 47,375 employees, injecting 461,025,000 Baht into the economy.
