Content Description

On June 9, 2022, at 14.30 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin  assigned Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud to participate in a press conference on policy-driven cooperation and guidelines for reforming the primary care system in Bangkok (Big rock 1) under the Ending Pandemics through Innovation: EP1 program to prepare and support the epidemic situation at the national level and emerging diseases. The initiative will result in a concrete drive. It will lead to upgrading access to essential health services and improving the quality of medical care for people to have sustainable safety and health security by adhering to public service as the center. The meeting took place at the Buddy Oriental Riverside Hotel, Nonthaburi Province.
The Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour said that there are currently 3,604,602 insured persons in Bangkok, most of whom are enrolled in 100-bed or more service establishments, where the connection with the primary care unit is still lacking. During the COVID-19 situation, referrals of infected insured persons to the service unit were very difficult due to a lack of connection or pre-referral services in insured person groups. For example, to help with severe outbreaks in worker camps. The Ministry of Labour and the Ministry of Public Health hastened the bubble and seal measures in camp workers with a severe outbreak.
“Primary care units are therefore extremely important, as they are a close outpost. It is a point of connection for services from individuals, families, communities, factories, companies, and establishments to large service units. It makes access to services more efficient and is necessary to raise the standard of public health services. Qualitative results are continuously monitored. The efforts are also promoting the use of telehealth medicine technology to reduce the gap in accessing public health services, responding to specific service needs, especially among the workers in an urban society like Bangkok,” said the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour.
