Content Description

On August 7, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud, with the Social Security Office’s Inspector-General, Air Chief Marshal Supaporn Yuwattana, to visit the area to give compensation to the family of Ms. Switta Chantha, an employee who died as a result of the fire at the Mountain B Pub. The visit took place at the Dan Krong Krang Temple, Non Thai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
Ms. Bubpha said that Ms. Switta Chantha was an employee of the Mountain B Pub in Chonburi, working as a cashier. The Labour Minister noted that Ms. Switta, working as a cashier, likely died from carrying out her duties. The employer had not registered the employee for social security or the compensation fund. Therefore, the Social Security Office has been instructed to look into the matter to assess whether the employee will be entitled to benefits from the compensation fund or not. From the Nakhon Ratchasima Social Security Office’s assessment, compensation can be paid to the beneficiaries. Today, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned her, along with the Social Security Office’s staff, to compensate the family of Ms. Switta Chantha, an employee who died due to the incident. The beneficiaries will receive compensation under the Compensation Act B.E. 2537, an old age pension from the Social Security Fund, including funeral expenses of 50,000 Baht, compensation in the event of death of 846,720 Baht, and an old age pension of 10,275 Baht, totaling 906,996 Baht. Mr. Thiamnithi Chandra, the father of the deceased, was the recipient. The Labour Minister has also instructed the Social Security Office to find a way to help to heal employees in such cases.
