Labour Minister Assigns Permanent Secretary to Commence “Wellness CNB Project” to Promote the Quality of the Workforce’s Life

          On April 1, 2022, at 13.00 hours, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong presided over the opening ceremony of the “Wellness CNB Project” which aims to support and develop the health of employees and management within the organization for holistic well-being. The Ministry of Labour has worked with the National-Building Institute on this project. It was organized to create a perspective on taking care of employees in all dimensions. Prof. Dr. Kriengsak Charoenwongsak, President of the Nation-Building Institute, gave a lecture on the “Comprehensive Wellness Concept.” Asst. Prof. Dr. Pansak Supararuek, Chairperson of the NBI’s Wellness Program, spoke about “Strategies to Create Good Health for Employees in the Digital Age.” The occasion took place at the Jompol P. Phibulsongkram Meeting Room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour.
          The Permanent Secretary of Labour said the Ministry of Labour aims to restore and transform the Thai labour market after facing the crisis from the COVID-19 pandemic in the past two years. Five urgent policies and seven important policies have been established. Key policies include developing, improving, and promoting labour protection, welfare systems, and social security, and raising the standards of occupational safety and health at work following the changing social, economic, and working styles. In addition, another important policy of labour protection is the development of labour skills as a quality worker, preparing for the country’s opening and supporting the new economy. The Ministry of Labour plans to upgrade skilled workers and create high-performing workers through various projects prepared through the cooperation between the state and the private sector to achieve the objectives.
          “The Ministry of Labour would like to thank the National-Building Institute and the students from the Wellness Entrepreneurship Leadership Program for Building a Nation for initiating projects that contribute to caring for the workforce’s health, providing good health both physically and mentally. This is a topic that is in the main responsibilities of the Ministry of Labour, following the plans and policies of the Ministry of Labour that has already been set. This project will promote the implementation of the Ministry of Labour’s important policies greatly,” concluded Mr. Boonchob.
