Labour Minister Assigns Pol. Maj. Gen. Nantachat to Inspect Foreign Workers in Phuket

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Major General Nantachat Supamongkol from the Office of the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, to pay a visit and inspect the work of foreigners in Phuket.
          On July 5, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Pol. Maj. Gen. Nantachat Supamongkol from the Office of the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, visited the area with the security task force and related agencies to check the work of foreigners in the Phuket area. The visit advised and educated employers about legally employing foreign workers to prevent illegal immigration and prevent the spread of COVID-19. The effort follows the orders of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, who ordered the Ministry of Labour to work with security, military, police, and administrative departments to strictly control, monitor, prevent and suppress illegal immigration and control the situation following measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among workers in the workplace.
          Pol. Maj. Gen. Nantachat Supamongkol from the Office of the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, said that today, he was assigned by Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin, to visit Phuket to inspect the employment of foreign workers in four places as follows: Inpatient Building Construction Project, Chalong Hospital, which employs 5 Thai workers and 50 Myanmar nationals. The Rawai Vip Villa construction project, which employs 10 Thai workers and 70 Myanmar foreign workers. The Vip Rawai office building project employs 2 Thai workers and 14 Myanmar nationals, and the Amphawa Supicha Resort construction project employs 15 Thai workers and 70 Myanmar nationals. The initiative aims to prevent illegal immigration and prevent the spread of Covid-19 following government policy. From the inspection of foreign workers in all four places, all workers had the correct documents for work permits and permission to stay in the Kingdom. Officers of the special task force and from the Phuket Employment Office have publicized for employers and establishments to hire foreign workers legally and educate them about measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. If anyone sees an offense about illegal immigrant workers, please promptly report the clues to the officers immediately.
