Labour Minister Assigns Pol. Maj. Gen. Nantachat to Join Meeting on the Coordination of Protection, Prevention, Prosecution, Rights, and Assistance to Thai People Deceived into Forced Labour Abroad

          On May 10, 2022, at 15.00 hours, the Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Assistant Minister from the Prime Minister’s Office performing duties for the Ministry of Labour Police Major General Nantachat Supamongkol and staff of the Labour Trafficking and Human Trafficking Prevention Secretariat Center, as a representative to attend the meeting. They traveled by the Royal Thai Air Force’s helicopter to attend the meeting on the coordination of protection, prevention, prosecution, rights, and assistance to Thai people who have been deceived into forced labour abroad at the Customs Conference Room, Khlong Luek Border Checkpoint.

          The meeting listened to the situation and the problem and took Thai people who were deceived into forced labour in Cambodia back to the country. It also included a summary of assistance and a press conference on the integration of the work of the agencies on the suppression and resolution of human trafficking in Thailand so that all units in the area and border provinces increase caution and preventive measures which will address the problem of human trafficking more effectively.

          Sa Kaeo Province is a province that plays a role in the border provinces. The support of Thai people who have been deceived into working in the past has shown the cooperation of agencies, such as the Royal Thai Police, the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, and border patrol and agencies in related areas. They have worked together to help victims tricked into working in neighboring countries. It also emphasized that local agencies help each other take care of and prevent human trafficking to show that Thailand is serious about solving human trafficking in Thailand.
