Labour Minister Assigns Secretariat to Join Opening Ceremony for Electric Bus Services on Route 8, Promoting Employment and Income of up to 30,000 Baht Monthly

The labour Minister assigned his Secretariat to join in the honour of the opening ceremony of the electric bus for route 8 of Thai Smile Bus Company Limited, under the slogan “Travel with a Smile, and Care for the Environment.” It offers those holding a bachelor’s degree the opportunity to work in the service sector, earning up to 30,000 Baht per month.
          The Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned the Secretariat to the Labour Minister, Mr. Suthep Chitvong, to join in the honour of commencing the service of electric buses for route eight by the Thai Smile Bus Company Limited. Transport Minister Mr. Saksiam Chidchob chaired the event, and Chief Executive Officer of Energy Absolute Public Company Limited, Mr. Somphot Ahunai, gave a welcome speech. The occasion took place at Bus Station No. 8, Bueng Kum District, Bangkok.
          Mr. Suthep said that the government under your leadership of the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, who oversees the Ministry of Labour, gives importance to the promotion of employment for Thai people to have jobs, a career, and a stable income. The Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, has responded to the government’s policy, in which the public and private sectors can work together to develop skills for the workforce and provide a full range of recruitment services. Today, he said he was honoured to be part of the opening ceremony of the electric bus route 8 of Thai Smile Bus Company Limited. The Ministry of Labour has signed a cooperation agreement on recruitment services and skill development within the public transportation services with Thai Smile Bus Co., Ltd., E Smart Transport Co., Ltd., and Dhurakij Pundit University.
          Mr. Suthep continued that in this cooperation, the Ministry of Labour’s Department of Skill Development and the companies have launched two courses to develop transportation personnel. The courses include one on performance standards of electric bus drivers and the other on the performance standards of electric bus attendants. In the training course, drivers of electric buses will learn to use the equipment and control systems of electric buses, including rules, regulations, manners, personality, equipment structure, and the facilities of electric buses, including emergency measures. Electric bus attendants will learn about the role, techniques for providing services with heart, collecting money, skills related to using automatic payment machines, e-payment, and taking care of the cleanliness of the vehicle while traveling. The company has brought together courses to develop over 200 of its personnel. Today, the company commenced the electric bus transportation service, Route 8, in Bueng Kum District and is about to start on many more routes. Therefore, there is a need for workers to work both as drivers and bus attendants in many positions, where salaries can go up to 30,000 Baht.
          “It’s a pleasure to join the launch of the electric bus service. This will help promote employment, and reduce unemployment for workers, including new graduates, to be given the opportunity to develop the necessary skills and be ready to enter the workforce. In addition, workers in the system have a chance to develop their skills, have better knowledge, and have a stable income. It helps the country’s economy have a better outlook,” said Mr. Suehtp.
