The Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, provided the policy to the Thailand Institute Of Occupational Safety And Health (Public Organization) or TOSH to support safety networks in the private sector, educational institutions, and government agencies to create safety 24 hours a day. TOSH has coordinated the safety network in the southern region to upskill small business establishments.
On July 13, 2024, the Deputy Director of the Thailand Institute Of Occupational Safety And Health (Public Organization) or TOSH, Mr. Bancha Srithanauthaikorn, reported that the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn provided a safety policy for all workers. He emphasized TOSH as the main agency in creating safety 24 hours a day in the academic seminar on occupational health and safety in Songkhla Province, held by the TOSH from July 3 to July 4. It has also hosted a meeting of networks working on safety in the southern region. The participating network consists of teachers and academics from educational institutions in the southern region, establishments, and government agencies working on safety.
Mr. Bancha continued that in the network meeting, measures were discussed to allow small SME establishments to have access to safety information. Therefore, the TOSH was requested to be the center for preparing safety media in various languages to distribute to the workers in these small establishments.
“Creating awareness about safety should start upstream, that is, schools, by inserting safety knowledge into some subjects and making the TOSH the center for coordination between educational institutions such as schools and universities, and business establishments. Some courses should be integrated with establishments. For smaller companies, the TOSH may provide skill-enhancing courses free of charge. All of this is with the same goal of creating a culture of safety that arises from the participation of all sectors together,” said Mr. Bancha.
