In the Labour Minister’s speech, he said, “The government has given great importance to developing people to support Thailand 4.0 policies, which will reform economic foundations to drive national development, through innovation, intellect and technology. We must build a Thai 4.0 workforce to support this, therefore people development is crucial. We must have a knowledgeable and technologically savvy workforce, therefore the standard skills assessments are a tool to drive this. The award ceremony is a mechanism for people to see and become interested in the skills assessment, which is beneficial to workers, organizations and customers. Employers can use this as a recruitment selection tool for knowledgeable and skillful workers, and also compensate fairly without the need for negotiation. On the employee side, workers will be aware of areas to be improved and will also guide them to plan their own course of development. From a general perspective, consumers can be assured quality service and productivity, whereas the country as a whole will benefit from higher productivity.”
The Department of Employment’s Director-General Mr. Teerapol Koonmuang said, “To motivate people to see the importance of self-development and to promote awareness of the scheme’s benefits towards employers, we organized this award ceremony for 604 people who passed assessment at the level 1 standard. Recipients were awarded pins to be placed on their shirt, which will allow consumers to see and be assured of quality products and services.”
