Labour Minister Awards Plaques of Honour to 31 Organizations in the Skills Development Network

Ministry of Labour’s Department of Skill Development awards plaques of honour in skill development networks to 31 organizations in thanks for developing the industry’s workforce amid the COVID-19 situation.
          On April 22, 2022, at 11.00 hours, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin presided over the award of plaques to the skill development network of 31 organizations to honor the skill development network that supports the Ministry of Labour’s Department of Skill Development to carry out skill development to achieve the goal amid the COVID-19 situation. Secretariat to the Labour Minister Mr. Suthep Chitvong was assigned to award the plaques to the skill development network at the Jompol P. Phibulsongkhram meeting room, Ministry of Labour. After presiding over the award ceremony, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin said that there is a collaboration between government agencies, the private sector, and educational institutions following the government’s civil state approach, under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha. It plays an important role in the country’s economic and social development. The Department of Skill Development has used the civil state approach to create a skill development network. It aims to implement the Ministry of Labour’s policy under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan in the field of development and upgrading of labour skills to increase the competitiveness of the industrial sector and the national economy for support amid the impacts of the COVID-19 situation.
          Mr. Suchart continued that the awarding of the plaques was to honour and show appreciation to 31 organizations that are part of the labour skill development network. These include: (1) The Provincial Electricity Authority (2) The Thai Electrical & Mechanical Contractors Association (3) the Thai International Freight Forwarders Association (4) Sripatum University (5) The Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University (6) SCG Foundation (7) The Skill Development Foundation (8) Central Group Co., Ltd. (9) K Consulting and Supply Co., Ltd. (10) Schneider Electric Thailand Limited (11) CRC Thai Watsadu Co., Ltd. (12) Saint-Gobain Thailand Co., Ltd. (13) DENSO International Asia Co., Ltd. (14) Toyota Daihatsu Engineering & Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (15) Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd. (16) Thai Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (17) Thai Gypsum Products PCL (18) NASCO Sanitaryware (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (19) Nippon Paint (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (20) Nexter Digital Co., Ltd. (21) Boonthavorn Ceramic Co., Ltd. (22) Siam City Cement PCL (23) Mavell Corporation Co., Ltd. (24) The Siam Gypsum Industry (Saraburi) Co., Ltd. (25) Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (26) Eminent Air (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (27) NS BlueScope (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (28) AERO Group (1992) Co., Ltd. (29) Home Product Center PCL (30) Haier Electrical Appliances (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and (31) PTT Exploration and Production PCL. He praised the organizations for supporting the Department of Skill Development’s missions in many areas, such as budgets, tools, and materials, training equipment, venues, and speakers, valued at over 21 million Baht. They have been able to organize training and skill standards assessments for craftsmen, community technicians, workplace employees, and the general public for 2,959 people. They have also helped in organizing the national skill competition. This contributes to the missions of the Department of Skill Development to achieve the goals set in the production of a workforce for the manufacturing, construction, automotive and parts industries, and services and tourism sector, which has been more challenging to operate amid the COVID-19 situation.
          “The plaques of honour presented to all 31 organizations in the network today are an expression of gratitude and honour. It also confirms the importance of cooperation from all sectors in raising service quality to meet the needs of service users, strengthening the labour sector and the country’s economy. The workforce has maintained work and a stable income under the COVID-19 situation,” said the Labour Minister.
