On January 11, 2025, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, chaired the scholarship award ceremony on the occasion of National Children’s Day 2025 by the Ministry of Labour. The Labour Minister gave an opening speech, gave gifts to children, and visited activity booths organized by agencies under the Ministry of Labour and business establishments. Mr. Siraphop Duangsodsri, Assistant to the Labour Minister, Mr. Aree Krainara, the Secretariat to the Labour Minister, and Mr. Phuchong Worasri, assigned to the Office of the Prime Minister and currently serving at the Ministry of Labour, also joined the occasion. Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, gave a report. The Ministry of Labour’s executives and civil servants, parents, children, students, the Din Daeng Flat community, and children of the workforce joined the event, which took place in the lobby on the ground floor of the Ministry of Labour’s Building, Mitmaitri Road, Din Daeng District, Bangkok.

Mr. Phiphat welcomed everyone who joined the Ministry of Labour’s National Children’s Day 2025 event. This year, the government announced the Children’s Day slogan as “Every opportunity is a learning experience. Be ready to adapt to the future of your own choice.”. The slogan encourages all children and youths to learn from every opportunity that comes their way and to design their future as they wish to create value and pride for themselves.

“The Ministry of Labour prioritizes the development of the workforce to understand their capabilities and to create career opportunities for themselves. This is embedded during school age and after graduation, with the goal of supporting workers to increase income and reduce family burdens. To promote welfare, childcare centers, and breastfeeding corners have been set up in business establishments to reduce expenses for workers with families and to provide peace of mind while they are at work. For today’s event, I would like to thank all agencies and business establishments that gave their support and worked with the Ministry of Labour in preparing engaging activities for children to gain experience and knowledge through participation,” said Mr. Phiphat.
Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, said that the purpose of the event is to allow children to learn about the world of work and future careers, develop their skills, and gain knowledge about labour welfare, social security, and occupational safety. This is to encourage children and youths to have fun, express themselves creatively, be aware of their rights and duties, be disciplined, and be responsible for themselves and society. The initiative aims to enhance participation and strengthen relationships between the Ministry of Labour, private sector businesses, educational institutions, and communities. The events included stage performances, booths for games, and prizes from agencies under the Ministry of Labour. Participating children can learn about the world of future careers, practice their knowledge, abilities, and skills, and learn about the workforce, social security, and occupational safety. Private sector businesses arranged activity booths, and free food and drinks were offered throughout the event. The day was filled with a lively atmosphere, with over 10,000 people from the public, workers, and people from the Din Daeng community bringing their children to join activities with the Ministry of Labour.
