Content Description

Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakul and committee visited the Institute of Human Resource Development for the healthcare industry in San Kamphaeng district of Chiang Mai. The institute was established to prepare workers for the tourism and healthcare industry to support the needs of businesses. The Labour Minister awarded successors from the standard skills assessment at the level 1 capacity in Western holistic health promotion (massage therapy) and Thai holistic health promotion (massage therapy) to 98 awardees. He said, “Skill standards will be an important mechanism in elevating workers’ quality of life through better income. Wages depend on skill standards in each profession; for Western holistic health promotion (massage therapy) at the level 1 capacity, wages are 490 Baht and 650 Baht at the level 2 capacity. For Thai massage at the level 1 capacity, wages are 440 Baht, 580 Baht at the level 2 capacity and 720 Baht at the level 3 capacity. For Thai holistic health promotion (massage therapy), wages are still under consideration. The wage alignment with skill standards are measures which align with the 20-year strategy on human resource development.”
