Labour Minister Establishes MOL CCSA to Manage Covid-19 and Support Workforce in All Dimensions

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin established the Ministry of Labour’s Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (MOL CCSA), directing operations according to the instructions from the CCSA, supervising and monitoring the performance of government agencies under both central, regional and foreign areas. The center gathers information and coordinates with relevant departments, issuing measures to assist companies, employers, and employees.

          On December 23, 2020, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Ministry of Labour under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, gives great importance to taking care of all workers of all nationalities working in Thailand. The government has shown concern for workers working in all relevant sectors, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. On December 21, 2020, the Ministry of Labour established the Ministry of Labour’s Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (MOL CCSA) on the 5th floor of the Ministry of Labour building to serve as a center for managing situations relevant to the workforce.

          Mr. Suchart spoke about the structure of the Ministry of Labour’s Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (MOL CCSA), which is a joint force between all departments under the Ministry of Labour. The Labour Minister’s Assistant, Advisor, and Secretariat are the center’s advisor, with the Permanent Secretary of Labour as the chairperson. The Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Director-Generals from all departments and the senior executives from the center’s committee, to facilitate the implementation of orders from CCSA, to supervise, control and monitor the performance of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour, both central and regional areas, including Thai labour offices abroad. The center will gather information and coordinate with relevant departments and issue measures to assist companies, employers, and employees, such as finding job vacancies, developing skills, and promoting benefits and protection under labour laws.

          “Employers, employees, and workers affected by Covid-19 can coordinate for assistance with the Ministry of Labour at the 1506 hotline, press 5. The Ministry of Labour has experts in each field to provide urgent assistance and services,” concluded the Labour Minister.
