The Labour Minister followed the Deputy Prime Minister to help Samut Songkhram villagers alleviate poverty and reduce disparity.
On October 9, 2020, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin followed Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan to Samut Songkhram to attend a meeting to present solutions on poverty and disparity at the local level using the Thai People Map and Analytics Platform (TPMAP). The occasion took place at the Samut Songkhram City Hall. The visiting committee listened to the results of the project’s implementation and successes to alleviate poverty in Samut Songkhram province. Representatives of the NESDC spoke about the background of the solution to poverty. Representatives of target community leaders and households spoke about receiving assistance from the Samut Songkhram provincial office.
Samut Songkhram has a workforce of 111,075 workers, comprising 58,454 informal workers and 15,256 foreign workers. Mr. Suchart ordered the five labour leaders to monitor the area and be prepared to assist the people and provide effective and continuous action to alleviate poverty. The efforts align with government policies that focus on poverty eradication and to reduce disparity, leading to the sustainable development of people of all ages.
