The occasion took place at the meeting room in Kasetwiwat Building, Kubota Farm, Nong Irun Subdistrict, Ban Bueng District, Chonburi Province. President of Siam Kubota Corporation Co., Ltd., Mr. Takanobu Azuma, welcomed the delegation. Governor of Chonburi Province, Mr. Pakakorn Thianchai, the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Thienrat Navamawat, the Department of Employment’s Director-General, Mr. Pairoj Chotiksetian, the Department of Skill Development’s Director-General, Mr. Prateep Songlamyong, the Social Security Office’s Secretary-General, Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the welcoming.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister met with a group of informal workers and encouraged the subdistrict labour volunteer leaders and labour networks in Chonburi Province, who joined the welcoming. Labour volunteers link the Ministry of Labour’s mission to the area. They are people who sacrifice themselves for the public and work closely with the people in the community in implementing the missions and coordinating labour services. Their efforts provide people with jobs, skills, occupations, income, protection, and sustainable social security. The Labour Minister joined the Prime Minister’s delegation to listen to the guidelines for the development of modern agriculture and the successful Smart Farming model from community enterprise leaders and private sector representatives. The Prime Minister delivered a policy to drive agricultural innovation and integrated technology, promoting agricultural machinery to improve the quality of life of farmers and the agricultural sector under the sufficiency economy philosophy.
Mr. Suchart said that the Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha and Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, who oversees the Ministry of Labour, give importance to the promotion of community enterprise occupations to create employment at the local level. The focus aligns with the government’s policy to drive agricultural innovation and integrated technology to improve farmers’ quality of life under the sufficiency economy philosophy. In the past, the Department of Skill Development has cooperated in developing agricultural career skills with the private sector, such as Siam Kubota. It has conducted training for Siam Kubota and its affiliates, including groups of farmers and professionals involved in the professional excavator driving course, repair and maintenance of diesel engines, professional tractor driving, and controlling a professional combine harvester. There is also cooperation in the development of labour skill standards, where it joined as a subcommittee on the determination of national skill standards in agricultural tractor repair. Siam Kubota has labour skill standard assessment centers in two branches, namely agricultural tractor repair technicians and small diesel engine repair technicians. It has also worked on promoting enterprises to develop their employees’ skills under the Skill Development Promotion Act.
