Labour Minister Launches Intensive Training for Social Security Public Relations Officers Focuses on Corporate Communication to Create Awareness about Protection and Welfare to Improve the Quality of Life of Insured Persons

     On July 17, 2024, at 09.30 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, chaired the opening of the project to develop the potential of public relations officers of the Social Security Office. The Assistant to the Labour Minister, Mr. Siraphop Duangsodsri, the Secretariat to the Labour Minister, Mr. Aree Krainara, from the Prime Minister’s Secretariat’s Office, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, Mr. Phuchong Worasri, the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson, Mr. Phumiphat Mueanchan, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, the Social Security Office’s Secretary-General, Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Wannarat Srisuksai, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Decha Phruekpattanarak, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Lieutenant Saroj Komkhai, the Ministry of Labour’s executives, the Social Security Office’s administrators and public relations officers from the Central and Provincial Social Security Offices gave a welcome at The Emerald Hotel, Bangkok.
 
     The Labour Minister said that he was pleased to be the chairman of the opening ceremony of the project to develop the potential of public relations officers of the Social Security Office. This project was organized to develop the potential of corporate public relations personnel to drive social security public relations missions, create a good image, and build knowledge, understanding, and confidence for employers, employees, insured persons, and stakeholders. It enables people in every sector to create good communication from inside to outside the organization through various media channels, in line with the policies of the Ministry of Labour and changes in the Thai social media context.
 
On this occasion, he shared the Ministry of Labour’s policy, “Good skills, good work, outstanding social security principles, and a focus on driving the economy.” It aims to achieve success and emphasize missions related to the Social Security Office to achieve concrete results quickly. It has a “focus on standardized services, diagnosing issues accurately, quickly, and conveniently, and to protect, care for, and create good welfare to improve the quality of life of insured persons” according to 4 main guidelines as follows:
 
1. Build the economic foundation to improve the quality of life through labour protection. Improve and develop laws that are appropriate for the context of the country’s economy and society and that are in line with international standards. Raise the level of treatment rights, including the benefits of a modern social security system responding to the needs of insured persons.
2. Promote good health for insured persons through proactive health checks in establishments throughout the country, which will enable them to access services and enhance their quality of life.
3. Focus on social security in the new era, BEST E-SERVICE, and add online channels to make the services of the Social Security Office more accessible.
4. Manage the fund efficiently, transparently, and sustainably under the policy of a “Stable Fund, Wealthy Workers, and Sustainable Social Security.” Increase the number of insured persons in the social security system. Accelerate studies and develop benefits to meet the needs of insured persons.
 
 The Social Security Office’s Secretary-General, Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, said that the Social Security Office has given importance to communication, creating awareness, and dissemination of public relations regarding the mission and performance of the office to departments within and outside the organization. At the same time, the Social Security Office continues to improve and develop communication channels to meet the target group, to be easily accessible, and to continually respond to needs. Therefore, it strives to promote creative thinking skills to keep up with media technology to the public relations network of the Social Security Office to be able to use it to develop public relations work in the organization and effectively manage news and information through all media channels.
 
The “Project to Develop the Potential of Public Relations Officers of the Social Security Office” is held from July 17 to 19, 2024, for Social Security public relations practitioners. Two hundred fifty-five people attended the training, consisting of civil servants and Social Security Office officials who work in social security public relations from both the central and regional areas. The training is in the form of lectures, knowledge practice, and discussions, including analyzing different scenarios to develop participants to become public relations professionals
