Content Description

On September 16, 2024, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, chaired the handover of the first batch of additional relief bags to be transported to help flood victims in Chiang Rai Province. The Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, and the Ministry of Labour’s senior executives joined the event in the lobby on the ground floor.

Mr. Phiphat said that due to the flood situation in many provinces in both the North and the Northeast, the Ministry of Labour is concerned about the lives of our fellow citizens, as well as personnel and labour networks. Today, the Ministry of Labour joined forces with the private sector network to deliver consumer goods, rice, dried food, medical supplies, and relief bags for the first batch. The second and third batches will be delivered together to help flood victims get through this crisis.

Mr. Phiphat said that the Ministry of Labour, together with the provincial labour officers and network officials, met via teleconference to plan and prepare to help the people and restore the area, such as repairing houses, electrical appliances, small agricultural engines, and help with occupations to generate income until the situation returns to normal.

In this regard, people affected by the flood who are suffering and need assistance from agencies under the Ministry of Labour can call the hotline at 1506.

The Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, said that the relief bags were donated through the cooperation of agencies under the Ministry of Labour and the private sector, who jointly provided consumer goods to pack 1,000 relief bags to help flood victims. All relief bags will be transported by a 6-wheel truck from the Social Security Office to the Ministry of Labour’s Office at the Chiang Rai Government Center so that agencies under the Ministry of Labour can deliver them to help flood victims in Chiang Rai Province.
